Job Description:
We're seeking a Data Engineer to support critical data migration initiatives. In this role, you'll collaborate with team members to understand complex data structures and flows, particularly focusing on clinical and research reporting systems. You'll help design and implement data transformation solutions, ensuring accurate data migration while maintaining security protocols. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in data analysis and conversion, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective data mapping strategies. You'll play a key role in blending data from multiple sources and ensuring seamless transitions between legacy and new systems while adhering to organizational security guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Work with Business Analysts and subject matter understand business value drivers that will inform data migration priorities and approach to data availability.
Perform data analysis writing queries or using other methods to group and report on data types which will produce information to aid in decision making around data migration and conversion strategies.
Participate in all aspects of Data migration design, development, maintenance, and support; and establish standards and processes which ensure the reliability of data.
Perform extract, load, and validation of converted data as needed
Develop and maintain functional and technical requirement specifications documentation and issue resolution for Data Migration, Data Transformation and Data Integration
Develop solutions in coordination with other IT staff, including Data Migration Analysts, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, Infrastructure, and project managers.
Maintain project, validation & change control documentation to ensure compliance with Security and Data quality standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a technology focused conversion analyst including data migrations, data conversions and data transformation
BA/BS Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience in Data management/integration/analysis
Technical proficiency C# (Windows), SQL/SQL Server and scripting skills with experience in one or more programming languages to support automation of migration and conversion needs
Experience with R Open Source, REDCap, or other analytics tools.
Comprehensive understanding of data mapping, data conversion
Ability to read and interpret process flow documentation and translate this information into mapping, conversion, or transformation functions
Proficient creating diagrams and process flows in Visio or similar software
Capable of supporting solution testing efforts by developing test plans, preparing test environments, performing test execution, and validating test results with metrics/queries
Strong technical problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex issues and share information with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to automate manual integration and/or migration processes
Experience on projects with complex data migration needs and system-to-system integrations
Experience with software project lifecycles, and ability to apply various development methodologies i.e., Scrum/Agile, Waterfall, etc. to work deliverables
Experience in healthcare, scientific research and clinical trials is preferred
Experience working with databases and familiarity of the HL7 standards is preferred
Open to FTE or 1099
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is from $140,000 - $170,000 depending on overall skillset and experience.
